Also, we would like to acknowledge the faithful and thorough historical recording
of St. John's past in both words and pictures which made inclusion of so much
valuable historical information on our site possible.
We must note the late Rev. Edwin G. Kaiser, CPPS, STD, historian, editor and
author of two historical volumes heavily used as source material for much of the
information included on the sjbcatholicparish.org web site. Those two sources
are specifically, Fifty Years of Grace, 1897-1947, History of St. John's Parish, Whiting, Indiana and Jubilee Year, 1897-1972.
Also of note as a source for site material is the Dedication Book published at the dedication of St. John's Parish Center, November 11th, 1956. Some additional information and a number of old photos from the Dedication Book were made available for use on the site project thanks to Mrs. Mary Ann Dominiak. |
Many of the photos present on the site are scanned from the source books above. Also used as a source for historical scanned photos were the 1931 St. John the
Baptist Church Dedication Souvenir book, pictured in the About section, and the
1974-75 School Yearbook.
We have also been blessed with a number of beautiful original images to use in
